View from the Back

Winding down the urban landscapes I've been posting is the view from the back of a 2-storey shop house in Bugis.

I have a fondness for shop houses that stand toe-to-toe with their taller brethren. An obvious throwback to the past, they still stand in the present, fulfilling their duties in whatever form the present day has thrown on them.

They still hold some of the character of their past despite being whitewashed and updated for the modern age.
